Dr. Kenneth Whitt
Ken Whitt, Ph.D. is starting his fourth year as Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction for Royal ISD. Prior to his present position, Dr. Whitt was Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction for two years in Connally ISD in Waco, Texas. He also served for five years as Director for Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment for six school districts in the Falls Education Cooperative. Dr. Whitt has worked as a middle school and high school teacher and has served as a campus and district administrator in both urban and rural school districts and has over 16 years of experience.
In 2008, The American Association of School Administrators presented Dr. Whitt with the Finis Engleman Award, in recognition as an outstanding graduate student in educational administration. Dr. Whitt completed his doctorate degree in December 2009 at Texas A&M University and in 2011, the university awarded him the Paul R. Hensarling Award for outstanding service and achievement. His dissertation research focused on superintendent’s self-efficacy influences on student achievement and he was recently notified his research will be published in the Journal of School Leadership in 2015.
Dr. Whitt has two daughters, Whitney, a graduate of Texas State University and Alona, a Texas A&M graduate of the class of 2014. Whitney and her husband Kevin are the parents of Dr. Whitt's only grandchild, Hudson Faye.
