Jullian Keggins begins his second season at Royal High School where he serves as the Defensive Coordinator for Football and the Head Boys Track Coach. This is his ninth season in the coaching realm. He also works with the credit recovery program at Royal High School.
In 2013 Keggins entered into the high school ranks in East Texas where he coached Football (RB & OLB), Basketball, and Track. In football, he tutored the districts
offensive player of the year and on defense he coached first team all-district OLB. Keggins worked in content mastery to serve students.
In 2010-2012, Keggins served as the Assistant Head Football Coach and Defensive Coordinator for the Steers of Texas College. During the 2011 season, the team led the conference 1st in sacks with 34.5 and 1st in forced fumbles, fumble recoveries, and tackles for loss; in 2010 the team was 2nd in forced fumbles and tackles for loss. He tutored the 1st team all-conference and conference sack leader two years in row. Because of this defense he led, Keggins was awarded by being selected as the Defensive Coordinator for the D-II vs NAIA All Starr game which was played in New York. He also had two of his defensive players selected. Keggins also implemented a new golf program where he served as the head coach.
In 2009, Keggins
was the assistant coach for strength and conditioning at Eastern Michigan University where he primarily worked with the football program for the University. He assisted with the development and implementation of year-round strength, conditioning, speed, quickness, flexibility, and agility programs for football. Keggins
served as a liaison between assistant football coaches and strength and conditioning staff concerning players’ development, as well as with recruitment of potential football athletes. In-addition
worked with Men and Women Basketball, Wrestling, and Women’s Gymnastics.
In 2008, Keggins
was an instrumental part of the Prairie View A&M University Panther defense. The team concluded that year with a 9-1 record, and with a defense ranked second nationally in scoring defense, third in total defense, third in rush defense and seventh in pass efficiency defense. During Keggins
’ work with the PVAMU defensive program, the Prairie View defense also made history by recording two shutouts for the first time since its 1966 season. Keggins
was mentored under the award winning
defensive coordinator Heish
Northern, who earned national acclaim and was selected as FootballScoop.com’s 2008 Division I-AA Coordinator of the Year. Keggins
’ contributions to the team included tutoring several all-conference players.
During the 2007 season, Keggins’ first season coaching for the Panther defense, he played a key role in helping the Panthers clinch their first winning season in four decades. PVAMU 2007 team finished atop the SWAC in scoring and red zone defense along with a third-place total defense ranking. After that season, Keggins was named one of only 26 coaches from across the nation to receive an all-expense paid invitation to attend the NCAA Future Coaches Academy in Anaheim, CA.THE KEGGINS FILEPERSONALHometown:
