Royal's mission statement is "investing in our tomorrow". One way we do that is by supporting new teachers through the Mentor/Mentee program. Veteran teachers are paired with new teachers to provide guidance, answer questions, and ensure instructional excellence. The group recently met to kick off the 2023-2024 Mentor/Mentee program.
Our Strategic Direction was developed by RISD staff and the Board of Trustees. One of our pillars is "Employee Recruitment, Retention, and Capacity Building", and the Mentor/Mentee program is just one of many ways Royal invests in its employees.
"A mentor is not someone who walks ahead of you to show you how they did it. A mentor walks alongside you to show you what you can do."
