Tropical Storm Beryl is continuing its track to make landfall around Matagorda Bay. This puts Brookshire in the area that will feel direct impacts from the storm. Tropical force winds and heavy rains will be the most probable conditions. The time of landfall has moved up to early Monday morning around 4AM. Waller County remains under a Tropical Storm Warning.
You should be completing preparations by sunset tonight and be prepared to stay put through Tuesday morning.
Tomorrow local and state officials are asking people to stay off the roads in the interest of public safety.
The Mayor and City Administrator have made the decision to CLOSE city offices on Monday, July 8th in the interest of the safety of our staff. Essential personnel including our Brookshire Police and Public Works will be working through the event.
