Good things from the past week:
· Athletic scholarship offers keep rolling in for our class of 2023 athletes.
· Falcon Coach Phil Wilson was named Region 5 Assistant Coach of the Year and Falcon Head Coach Theadis Reagins was named Region 5 Head Coach of the Year. (Click here for pictures.)
· Royal MJROTC traveled to New Orleans to compete in a drill competition.
· The Academic UIL team is in competition season and doing great!
· The RHS boys' basketball team is helping battle cancer with the coaches vs cancer game against Navasota on February 14 (F@4:30pm; JV@5:45pm; V@7pm at RHS). Visit http://bit.ly/3XsgORE to help them reach their fundraising goal!
· The Falcon tennis team competed in their first JV Rattler Invitational tournament.
· For the first time in Royal history, Royal was represented in the Region 23/27 Jazz Band Ensemble.
· Superintendent Kershner will be recognized at the 2023 West I-10 Chamber of Commerce Banquet: “Superintendent Kershner has dedicated his life to making sure students succeed. His experience, leadership, passion for education and his positive attitude make him uniquely skilled to make positive change in students’ lives and the community around him. He instills his belief in the students, “No matter who you are or where you come from, you can always achieve your dreams.”

Do you know that the Falcon automotive pathway students can do anything from oil changes to major repairs like brakes, fuel pumps, engine mounts, steering and suspension, spark plugs, cooling systems, etc. The program recently started accepting donations for the repairs in benefit of the SkillsUSA program.
