The Royal ISD chapter of the Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE) was honored at the school board meeting on September 9, 2024, for their outstanding achievements at the National Educators Rising Conference, held this summer in Washington, D.C.
For the second year in a row, the Royal TAFE students emerged victorious on the national stage. Areli Valdez and Alexcia Garcia earned **First Place** in the Spanish Children's Literature category. Kimberly Pedraza and Eleanor Recinos received **Red Ribbons** in the Interactive Bulletin Board event, while Leslie Thompson qualified for Nationals in Children's Literature.
These students demonstrated exceptional skill and dedication, excelling through Area 4, where they competed against over 900 participants, then advancing to the TAFE state competition with over 3,000 students, and ultimately winning at Nationals, where more than 3,000 competitors from across the nation participated.
Mrs. Beyer, the TAFE advisor, expressed her pride in the students' hard work and commitment, celebrating their continued success as champions for the second consecutive year.
