On August 5-6 the Royal SkillsUSA Officer teams traveled to Mary Jo Peckam Park in Katy, Texas to participate in the annual summer officer camp. This two day event provided officers with the opportunity for work, fellowship, and fun. Officers began camp with a review of the purpose, organizational framework, and motto of SkillsUSA: to help better prepare for the improvement of the Royal Chapter for the upcoming year. This year’s new theme is; “United As One”. To achieve this, officers were involved in numerous breakout sessions. Sessions included planning the chapter calendar of activities, reviewing and revising the local constitution, increasing membership, and designing a new SkillsUSA chapter tee-shirt. The team also discussed more ways to be involved within the school and community. Officers voted on the new Executive Officer Counsel to represent the chapter from each of the seven career pathways. SkillsUSA officers truly became a team and it was a great learning experience for the officers as well as a productive camp for all! We look forward to another great school year for students being “United As One; Champions at Work”!
