Waller County Child Welfare Charity Clay Shoot

As always, Royal ISD thanks the Waller County Child Welfare Charity for their support of area children in need. The Royal High School ROTC and Color Guard teams participated in their recent Clay Shoot fundraiser event. Event participant and organization member Debbie Roesler had high praise for the ROTC team, who opened the event with the presentation of colors. Four cadets participated in the clay shoot, and they stayed to help during the live auction. They also respectfully waited until everyone else was served lunch before they got in line. The cadets on the shooting team were Mary Parnell, Diego Martinez, Daniel Baires, and Jesus Morales

Debbie Roesler stated, "My husband and I had the pleasure of sponsoring their team for the clay shoot. I didn't realize until well into the event that every other team bought mulligans (free shots or do-overs) to help their scores. We want to sponsor an ROTC team again next year, and will buy some mulligans next time! I am so proud of the way these young men and women represented Royal. They contributed a lot to a successful fundraiser. Money raised from this event will go directly toward providing Christmas for about 50 Waller County children and teens in foster care. My heart is full!"
