The 7th and 8th grade art students participated in a Public Service Announcement (PSA/) art contest. Their challenge was to create a PSA for protecting coastal bird life from marine debris and plastic pollution.
Representative, Ms. Elizabeth Virgil from Stopping Plastics and Litter Along Shorelines (SPLASH) spoke to five Falcon art classes.
With their new knowledge about marine debris and how to mitigate the situation, the students worked to create a poster for the contest. The contest entries are due by April 16 and winners will be used to create beach signs on Galveston beaches.
