The Royal Falcon Wind Ensemble attended the Region 27 4A Concert and Sight Reading
Evaluation in Brenham, on April 4, 2023 and made history. The Wind Ensemble received a
superior rating in concert and sight reading, which placed the Royal Falcon Band in the history
books as Sweepstakes winners, a feat that has not been accomplished since the 1970’s. Making superior ratings for both marching and concert assessments this year has been the pinnacle of a successful year for the Royal Falcon Band.
The band has brought home a superior rating in every competition this year. This is a true
testament of all the hard work and effort who are enrolled in our Fine Arts program. We would
like to thank all of the parents, teachers, and staff for all your continued support. Thanks also to all the band boosters, administrators, the PVAMU Student Teacher association, the Royal ISD Superintendent, school board members, community leaders, and the residents of the Brookshire/Pattison area.
We also would like to thank all the clinicians for their input and suggestions to help us reach our full potential. A special thanks to our assistant directors Mr. Rod Davenport, Donavier
Mosley, and Percussion Director Matthew Ford for their team efforts helping this award winning program become what it is today. We are grateful for the opportunity to work with such great students.
