Royal Early College High School juniors traveled to Austin on March 30th to witness a legislative session of our state. This semester they are taking Government 2306 (Texas Government). The ECHS class of 2024 is the first one to travel to Austin and witness our state government at work, which is more exciting than sitting in Mr. Arteaga's room as he explains theory. Instead, they enjoyed an amazing lab and real-world experience.
The students met and chatted with Representative and Royal graduate Stan Kitzman, Senator Lois Kolkhorst, and Criminal Appeals Court Judge Bert Richardson. Nikki Gonzalez (Representative Kitzman's Chief of Staff), and Nathaniel Quintero very graciously planned our visit and took very good care of the group during their visit.
