Dr. Doreen Martinez has been in education for 33  years and has been in administration for the past twelve  years. She is a graduate from University of Houston-Clear Lake where she earned her Bachelors, Masters and Doctorate degrees. 

She has served as a teacher, coordinator, technologist, and administrator. She served four years as an assistant principal, four years as an elementary principal,  and four years as a junior high principal. 

Some of her favorite things to do are spending time with family in the outdoors, traveling to new places, and reading educational books. 

She is a firm believer of the “growth mindset” research which is all about achieving success by working hard, loving learning, and being persistent. Her “why” or what brings her to school every day, is to inspire, empower, and positively impact the lives of children, staff, and community she serves. She is a professional educator who is passionate about helping ALL students achieve academic success. 

She is very exited about coming back to Royal ISD!
