RHS welding students participated in a competition in Columbus on 12/13/2019. The students got a chance to drive an underwater remotely operated vehicle (ROV) and also got a chance to talk to and weld with the WeldTube Squad from popular YouTube channel Weldtube. The Squad includes the instructors from South Coast Welding Academy. They will post a YouTube episode about the event. Be sure you follow their channel to see our students in action.
Joanna Oviedo also received a scholarship to TSTC for $3000 and all participants received a scholarship to Tulsa Welding School for $250 each.
Students also participated in the underwater welding event and the timed torch cutting event as well as their respective welding events. Twenty-eight schools and 220 students participated, with RHS students placing as follows:
