What's your "why"? My "why" is deeply rooted in my personal journey as a second language learner. Learning a new language, for me, was more than just acquiring a new way of communicating. It was a life-changing journey that significantly broadened my worldview and provided me with invaluable opportunities for growth, both personally and professionally. My "why" is not just about teaching language but about connecting cultures, creating opportunities, and building brighter futures.
How do you contribute to the district mission statement of "investing in our tomorrow"? I am helping "invest in our tomorrow" by providing key support that will contribute to the success of our students second language acquisition, allowing them to communicate in the professional world more effectively and empowering them to reach their full potential to succeed in an interconnected world.
Favorite quote: "โIf you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his own language, that goes to his heart.โ โ Nelson Mandela"
What are 1-2 goals you would like to achieve during the 2023-2024 school year? Provide support to our staff and students to meet the unique needs of our bilingual and ESL students. Promote a supportive and inclusive culture throughout the district that empowers students to embrace their culture and language while actively engaging students in second language acquisition.
