Royal is proud to announce that Katacha Miller has been selected as the Royal Early Childhood Center Principal. Royal ISD leadership is committed to a “build your own” approach to staff development and opportunities, and Ms. Miller is a shining example of that commitment. She attended Royal ISD for Kindergarten through 8th grade, completed her student teaching at Royal Elementary School, and taught second grade at Royal Elementary School for nine years before being named Assistant Principal at Royal ECC. She also taught 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade in Katy ISD for a total of 9 years.
Ms. Miller has been on the team at Royal for 12 years. She graduated from Prairie View A&M University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education and completed her Master of Education Degree with an emphasis in Educational Leadership at the University of St. Thomas.
When asked about her “why”, she stated, “My “why” is to give back to the community that helped make me the person I am today. Everyone deserves the opportunity to receive a quality education.” Her favorite quote is “Be excellent on purpose.” from Dr. Sanee Bell. Her goal for the 2023-2024 school year is to provide the necessary support to teachers and students in order to achieve academic growth in the areas of reading and math as a campus. When she is not helping build a foundation for success for our littlest Falcons, she loves listening to live music, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends. When asked if there was anything else she would like to share, Ms. Miller stated, “I love the Royal and Brookshire/Pattison community!” We love you, too, Ms. Miller, and we are so proud of you! #WeAreRoyal
