RJH recently celebrated Ms. Chaffin, who donated one of her kidneys in exchange for her daughter receiving a life-changing kidney transplant. Ms. Chaffin stated, "I am hoping for the best for my daughter, myself, and the other recipients and donors."
Royal ISD is happy to report that her daughter's transplant was a success! Her kidney function is better now than it was at diagnosis when she was only 3 years old. Kaitlynn is already trying to be very active and says she feels better now than before her surgery. Ms. Chaffin's surgery went great as well! Nothing unexpected happened and the recipient of her kidney is doing very well with normal kidney function.
Both Kaitlynn and Ms. Chaffin are at home resting. The cover photo was taken by Ms. Laxton when she visited. It was taken shortly after the surgery ended. Ms. Chaffin stated, "Thank you for all the calls, text messages, gift baskets, dinners, prayers and support from all of the Junior High Staff. I am so lucky to be a part of such a supportive group." #WeAreRoyal #hero
