The Brookshire I-10 West MLK Committee proudly presented Royal ISD Superintendent Rick Kershner and Royal ISD Director of Operations Derrick Dabney with the prestigious Brookshire I-10 West MLK Committee "Trailblazer Award" for their outstanding contributions and unwavering dedication to strengthening the community.
Representatives from Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson LLP, Street Lords, United Bikers of Prairie View (UBPV), Bountiful House of Blessing, Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church, and McKinney Management, Inc. delivered letters notifying Mr. Dabney and Mr. Kershner of this incredible honor at the December 20, 2025, RISD School Board meeting.
The two were officially celebrated at the annual Brookshire I-10 West Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration on January 16, 2025. 🎉
