Royal ISD hosted a Meet & Greet on February 13, 2025, welcoming Dr. Doreen Martinez as the principal of Royal Prairie Elementary School, the district’s second elementary school. The event brought together 52 attendees, all families of future Royal Prairie Elementary students, eager to connect and learn about the school’s vision.
Dr. Martinez, a finalist for the prestigious 2025 H-E-B Excellence in Education Principal of the Year Award, shared her commitment to student-centered learning, community collaboration, and innovation. Families were encouraged to nominate ideas and join planning committees, ensuring strong engagement as the school prepares for its opening.
Superintendent Rick Kershner shared, "Doreen is a perfect fit for Royal ISD, and her leadership will truly help us invest in our tomorrow. "We are thrilled to welcome Doreen back to Royal ISD and look forward to her leadership as she prepares to open Royal Prairie Elementary School!
