We are counting the days until our 2nd-5th grade families that selected face-to-face learning will return to campus on September 23rd! As a District we are taking EVERY measure to keep your students safe upon returning to face-to-face instruction. One major preventative step that has been put in place as part of our COVID-19 response plan is the requirement of students to enter the building with the assistance of RISD staff only. Unfortunately, due to safety precautions parents will not be able to walk their child into the building, however a campus staff member will personally walk each student from vehicles/buses to their assigned classrooms where teachers will be waiting to receive your child with a smiling, welcoming face. We know how hard this will be for our parents and students, but we must put the safety of our children first. Please begin to prepare students for their first day by reminding them you will say goodbye from the vehicle or at the bus stop. Also, please practice with your child how to independently exit the vehicle/bus, as well as enter the building without parent/guardian assistance. Students that are returning for face-to-face instruction will need to bring their RISD Chromebook to school with them on September 23rd. Thank you for your partnership as we take every step to open campus safety and keep your students' health our top priority.
