Chase Jacob: Why I Teach at Royal

Why I teach at Royal High School, by Chase Jacob

I have a strong interest in education, which developed shortly after graduating Texas A&M University in 2006. (WHOOP!) After working in the animal feed industry for three short years, I immediately discovered a passion for teaching. Having been married to an agriculture education teacher, and many close friends and family members that work in education, the decision to act on my ambition to educate was very easy.  Also, serving the Brookshire/Pattison community is special to me and is something I take very seriously.  Although it takes tremendous determination as an educator, I hold myself to the highest integrity in making sure each student becomes a productive successful citizen within our community.

I am very blessed and humbled to be employed by Royal Independent School District.  I am the Career and Technical Education Instructor for the Arts, Audio Video Technology and Communications Career Pathway. This is my eleventh year in education and it is my wish to further my educational career. I feel that one day; I can be a positive educational leader and strong influence in this community. This often reminds me of what John Dewey, an educational philosopher once stated,

“There is more than a verbal tie between the words common, community, and communication. Men live in a community in virtue of the things they have in common; and communication is the way in which they come to possess things in common.”

I work at Royal High School, not only to better serve my students within Royal, but the community in which my family resides in.

Thank you, Royal ISD!
