Bond Fact at Five: Spotlight on Royal Athletics

Greetings, Falcons! Fall is here, at least for a little while. For the final week of early voting, the Daily Bond Fact at Five will focus on all the great things happening in Royal. Yesterday, we posted the fact at 2pm to change things up a bit. It featured Chase Jacob and discussed why he teaches at Royal. Today's  spotlight is on the Royal 2019-2020 athletes. Read on for just a few of the many accomplishments we saw from our student athletes! There are countless others! Congratulations to all of our Falcon athletics for their incredible accomplishments both on and off the playing field!

BASKETBALL

The RHS Lady Falcons took the Bi-District champion title in a 65-56 win against Giddings.

SOCCER

The varsity soccer team finished their season 20-2-1. They had over 12 All-District elections, including the offensive MVP (5th year in a row, Defensive MVP (4th year in a row), Newcomer of the Year (2nd year in a row, three 1-st Team, three 2nd Team, and three honorable mentions. They also had one 1st team All-State, one All-State honorable mention, one 1st Team All-Region, and one 2nd Team All-Region. The team also received accolades off the field, from a community member who reported their awesome behavior at a local restaurant.

SOFTBALL

Four Royal Lady Falcon Softball Team members earned Academic All-State Honors in Softball for 2020: Alex Lopez, Hannah Simons, Alexis Chaar, and Emma Garcia. These exceptional student-athletes work hard on and off the field and the Lady Falcon Softball coaching staff is extremely proud of them and all their accomplishments. These young ladies have definitely left a legacy of excellence.
