Experience/Background
Being in education has been a part of my life since I first went to class at the University of Oklahoma with my mom at just a few weeks old. Later on in life, I attended the University of Oklahoma for a B.S in Education, then to Sam Houston State University for a Master’s in Education – Counseling, then to the University of Houston-Clear Lake for administration certification, I have had the privilege of working with students, families, and teachers from PreK-12th.
Over the past 20 years I have worked in Fort Bend ISD at Pecan Grove Elementary as a Special Education Teacher, Shelby County School in Maylene, Alabama as an Inclusion Teacher, served as a school board member of the Timberidge Presbyterian Childrens’ School in The Woodlands, University Researcher at Sam Houston State University, a Professional School Counselor at Barbara Bush Elementary in The Woodlands and at Katy Elementary in Katy ISD, and as an Academic Counselor at Stratford High School in Spring Branch.

1-2 goals you’d like to accomplish during your first year in your new role
- Connect and build relationships with our community.
- Work with and guide teachers, staff, and students on seeing the best in themselves so that it can translate in to success for our students.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
Basketball. As a huge Rockets fan, I can be found at home games or right in front of the TV cheering them on. Being a Spring Branch ISD FFA and Lacrosse mom, I am out cheering on my youngest several days a week. Anytime I can be outdoors is a good time especially when it is with friends and family.
Any other information you’d like to share about yourself?
Recently, my house got a little smaller after sending 2 of my 4 children off to college which also freed up a bit more time at home. Michael and I have 4 kids: Emily, Sophie, Zachary, Jax as well as a family dog named Abby.
I am excited and honored to be a part of Royal ISD.
