The Royal High School academic team traveled to Conroe on Saturday, March 6 to compete in the Caney Creek Invitational Speech and Academic Tournament. The following schools participated: Atascacita, Barbars Hill, Caney Creek, Dayton, Hallettsville, Huntsville, Kingwood Park, Livingston, New Waverly, Pasadena, Royal, Shepherd, Splendora, Woodlands, Tomball, Westbrook, and Wortham. Westbrook won Sweepstakes honors and Royal was the Sweepstakes Runner-Up.
In the words of RHS teacher Mrs. Richardson, "They are just amazing.... so proud of them! They walked in there with all those big schools, didn't bat an eye, did their thing, and came out on top."
